As muslims we are encouraged to thank our creatorfor everything..so, here, i say alhamdulillah !
To begin with; i apologise for the long silence; secondly, i really want to thank all those lovely people who suported me in all the hardships in the past.
I am at the moment in Berlin, undergoing one of those tuff moments; i will be back with a longer post as soon as i return to the hood; Sweden.
cheers guys..

Everythin that has a start has an ending...
Hello guys ! i hope that this post finds u at the best of ya spirits. Today, is the end of the stay at the Coast. Of course its always hard to say goodbye to the lil cuzins and the aunt..let alone friends.
But i also look foward to Nairobi since i miss the guys down there, let alone my lovely wife-to-be :)
Before i proceed, i just wanna emphasise on the highlights of my stay here in Mombasa :
- The morning prayers..and the walk through the palm trees ..hearing the sound of the wind going through those leaves..refreshing indeed !
- the ecological food..
-the sweet coconut drinks
- the humid weather
-The beautiful beaches
- the nice people
And then, there are those details u cant put to writting; things like the heavy shit u take when u eat a decent meal LOL i kno it sounds sick but, this are the things that pass us without much celebrations...
To sum up it all..yesterday was a beach day; today will be about diong the final touches..i cant swim since i kinda feel a bit of flu-moment..
will get back to u wen i reach nairobi inshalah..
Take care of yaselves and each other :) peace

hello bros n sis !
Mombasa is hot and humid ! i would compare mombasa to paradise if it was a bit colder. But, i will still call it a paradise since the heat is only there to lay comforts for a person (me) who is soon to be hit by the scandinavian cold weather,,i am literally charging my batteries full..the temperature is almost over 30 degrees always, and whenever i feel that the heat is too much then i just switch my winter memories on, thats enough to scare the effect of the heat off me..
This is what i enjoy about mombasa most :
1. Life is so natural; what i need to do when going out is just shower and put on the clothes directly without satnding infront of the mirror: so natural because in sweden its unnaturally so hectic going out..from the adjusting of the temperature of the water-to-the choosing of the clothing and all the way to the choosing of which oil to apply..
2. we dont need to do anything to get us sweating..sweating is an all-time process..this keeps us active.
3. we dont need setting the alarm clock; there is the call for prayers and if one misses that we got cock crows :)
4. there is always good company around: people are naturally funny...theres no need for tv actually; life is just entertaining out here..
...................the list is long...i summarise it there--------
enjoy this view of mombasa streets..

Ashura ! happy ashura all :)
Hello guys !
Today, was the 9th of muharram, tomorrow is Ashura..the day when Allah saved prophet Musa and his folowers from the pharaohs by creating a path in the red sea...so as muslims we fast a day before or a day after ashura. since i fasted today and the shura is tomorrow; i actually have no much to offer in my blog today.
I only can tell that fasting in mombasa on december is the hardest thing to do. Fasting is not a hard thing in general; i started fasting at the age as young as 10 years old. but, today, the heat level was on another level, and that of course does not make the fast easier.
We just broke the fast by eating the traditional samosa meal. and lots of drinks..
i started with samosa and a very cols sprite actually; i can say that i drank the sweetest sprite ever today..and i am now sitting here drinking the spicy chai tea; and awaiting is a very delicious ugali and goat meat stew :)
I am going to fast tomorrow as well thus no posts to be posted..,
i hereby expect u all a happy ahsura :)

The hottest day in my stay in Kenya !
hi guys, i hope u are all fine..i am fine and feeling very good actually. As i promised i just wanted to update you about my visit to the beach and swimmingpool respectively. First, i spontaneously went to the beach to take an hour swim, just for the sake of going to the beach, then took a drive into the most beautiful part of mombasa: the lighthouse..there we took snacks and few soft drinks. On our way home, we enjoyed a nice chat amid the loud somali music from the car. After the hysterical loughs thanks to my lil chicky cuz, we finally reached home. we put the night to rest after having a late-night football talks with my arsenal-fan cuzin.
Then, came today: the hottest day so far; after taking 5 showers in 6 hours..and things were not getting any worser when the area went blackout due power failure in the area.,we decided to spend the rest of the day in the kenya navy`s swimming pool. Its here we enjoyed a cold swimming day thanks to my cuzins dad who works as a captain at that camp.
Now, sitting here, waiting for a cold soda that was ordered on a nearby shop,,and taking the opportunity to hook up with u guys..
And soon is dinner! Rice, beans stew, goat meat..and Ananas/banana on the meny :)
have a great tym bleeeeeeps !

This week will be about relaxing and taking time with the cuzins n the rest of the family..and of course do some reading after the great meals :)
I will intensify my posts from next week inshalah; because i will be doing many stuff then..but tomorrow, i will be taking the lil cuz down to the swimming grounds..i will post on that and share the feeling inshalah

Jambo !
Hope u all fine, i am ok alhamdulilah..As i always start my posts; let me update you on the situation on the ground. After spending a great night with my childhood friends and bros, we started the day with a fine breakfast, then dressed for the friday prayers, that was around 11..
unfortunately, because of the heavy rains, there was heavy traffic that led to our late arrival to the mosque. after the prayers we headed to a friend who invited me and some other friends to his place for lunch. the guy just returned from the Hajj so there was a lot to be discussed. This was how the day was spent, basically chatting away a quality time with friends and eating good food..
Finally its saturday, this means that my best friend is returning from Turkana where he was based for the past weeks due to job commitments, it also means that i will be home chilling with friends and watching united play..
....its also tomorrow when 2 swedish friends are on visit to nairobi..and this is the shock they are in for--
1. nairobi is flooded with water and unlike sweden, one needs to master the art of walking on the muddy roads
2. they will be recieved by my many friends and cuzins.. and finally they will most probably be shocked by the friendly environment and the generousity of the nairobians...
Guys, am quite tired hence lacking creativity..bear with me pliz. will be back to u inshalah..cheers !

Good morning !
Hi guys! i am sory for keeping u waiting ! many of u have showed the desire to join me on this blog but because of the language setting of the blog u are unable to join up; i am working on changing the setting, hope it works out..otherwise keep tuned on !
rains have caused havoc in Nairobi hence nasty smell in ghetto areas and of course disrupted transport and sitima in the town...i might travel to a warmer mombasa this weekend inshalah, am not decided yet.
MORE UPDATES !
Amid the heavy downpours in Nairobi, there were big things that was going on with my life! I was courting this girl for sometimes, and i was really fascinated by how the somali culture sees this "dating" thing. to start with, i was blessed with a good muslim girl whose family is famous for the well-raising of their kids.
so, in the islamic culture, one is not allowed to treat women the way one wants, there is actually a process thats followed and this is the way it looks like,,
1. once u like each other, u are refered to the second stage
2..involve family members, once both families like the idea of you two having an affair,.then ..
3. council of elders from the guys family goes to the girls family to file a request for the girl-
4.then if the meeting goes well..the guy and the girl are officially in a relationship hence discussing marriage affairs and other serious stuff !
Now, i just finished all the stages, i am now talking wedding conditions with the family..and hopefully we can come into agreements.
so, if u guys were wondering why i was lost, its because of the fact that i was tied up with this interesting process.
I am glad to share this with u, i hope u are all able to be involved with this big process in one way or the other.
I really fancy having all the friends (especially those in the diaspora;yuske) in Nairobi to witness this big moment :)
at the moment, i need ya dua`s inshalah !

Good morning bros n sis where ever u are!
Just woke up for the morning prayers; am a bit late since i was really tired from the game of yesterday. generally alhamdulillah, i had a good week so far;
Before i proceed, i just wanna remind everyone here that violence is never necessary; especially that against a loved one. A person i know physically harassed his partner; this is unacceptable. we should never accept domestic violence, its never justifiable..I hope he repents.
Well, today i am a bit excited about meeting a sister whom i am introduced by a close friend of mine. We both are serious people; and inshallah, things will go well. we are meeting in town and with the presence of mahram inshalah.
i will update u on this later; if i will be in a position to talk about..inshallah.
NAIROBI::::
For those who have not been to Nairobi for so long time; the place has expanded; the chinese are building very complex roads, the town is cleaner and safer from thugs.
the only thing that might shock u is the way the women dress out here; thanks to technology and media acces, the girls and women have taken their way of dress to another level. U might not believe ya eyes, the girls wear tight fitting, with their skirts tightly fitted on the asses hence making their behind so visible; this is a big trend in Nairobi..some of them are dressed quite pornographic..I think Kenyan women were just beautiful the way the were before, they now just lowered themselves to trash..seriously, this is shame.
Finally, the economy is reallly staggering, prices on everything hiked in recent times hence making life difficult for the normal kenyan. Alhamdulillah, i was blessed to have a foreign currency with me...the exchange rate was in my favor..
I wish u all the best ya all, will be back to you..

Long time no see ! I really missed hooking up with u on this blog..when a friend wrote to me on facebook and told me that my blog needs to be updated, i was both apreciative and felt a bit shameful; thanks buddy for the reminder..and sory for taking too long to update my posts..
Here we go:
Right now, am at Nairobi and good things are happening..i will be back to these; let me start from Rhamu where it all began. Last monday, i booked the bus to Nairobi; Tawakal is the most comfortable bus that plies in that route i was told. i was so worried of the ongoing rumours about alshebab planting landmines and ambushing vehicles on the roads that links North eastern to the rest of Kenya. i was also worried of the pace of the busses and the timing of the jorney (the buses leave ramu around 8 pm).
while sitting at the family shop and chatting with friends, i got a call from the office where i was doing my practice, and i was told that there was a land cruiser that was coming in few minutes which was on its way to Nairobi..i gladly recieved the news and packed ready. after a long and tiresome journey, i landed in nairobi on a tuesday night.
NAIROBI LIFE;:
here, the joy is all about hooking up with friends; a part from tha chats and loughter, we also plan road trips on the beautiful parts of the country.
Yesterday; we went to an orphanage that lies between Nakuru and baringo..we were on a visit to two swedish female friends who jetted into the country 2 days ago. They were happy to see us off course.
To cut the long story short..it was a fine day on the road..we witnessed one of the beautiful scenes of Kenya..we passed by the Equator, the former president`s home town(kabarnet), Lake naivasha, the view was really owesome !
We also enjoyed the view of Elementaita Lake; the view of the Delamaires farms..waaw..the country is beautiful indeed !!!
Now am heading to Eastleigh..after all i am a somali and a somali must report to Eastleigh at least once. There i will be hooking up with old friends and enjoy maself a bit.
Am also planning a trip to the coastal town of Mombasa where i will be charging my "batteries" before going back to the cold swedish winter..more on this will be posted in the future..

Hello Bleeeps !
Here are my reactions to the death of the”king of the kings”..
Gaddafi was a bad man in the sense that he was extravagantly spending money on stupid stuff; while there were people starving on other corners of the world. For instance, he once paid beyonce 2 million dollars cash for singing in one of his events. He was also famous for splashing money to the so called scout girls when on visit to western states.
Apart from this, the guy was not as bad as being depicted on the western media. It is hard to imagine that the guy we are told is corrupt and authoritarian has successfully managed Libya without any debt. It is also hard to imagine that the guy had budget for every person who was intending to marry; every marrying couple had the rights to benefits from the social office. These are just one of the good memories from Gaddafi`s regime.
Whether the guy was bad or good, that can be felt by the Libyans and the western states who were concerned about his affairs; for us, he is a leader who has had difficulties holding the balance between defending pride and holding diplomatic ties..
The west wanted him to be their puppet just like any other Arab leader; He said “NO”..Kudos for that Gaddafi..They fought him...They finally won..In this sense; he is a hero
The Libyans; just like the Iraqis, were brainwashed, tricked into murdering their aging president and left with broken country. We can all at least predict what will happen next; you remember Iraq! It will be exactly the same way but more complex politics than that.
The Americans and its allies are happy now, but one think that is obvious to all but unknown to the western states is this; this Arabic revolutions are breaking terrorists out of their jails and giving them the chance to lead these countries hence democracy-----------------------------Google what the Muslim brotherhood is composed of !
To sum it all, Muslims don’t need to worry about this, all these hullaballoo in the Middle East is happening for a good reason, and the same reason is why we should not worry. They say “ you live by the gun and die by the gun. I would say “become a western lover or hater, you will end up dying a Saddam death or a Gaddafi one..
Cheers guys..

i will be postin on ma reaction on Gaddafis death..cheers !

Weekend updates!
Generally it was a good weekend ! I hope u guys had a nice weekend as mine. The saturday started with fine showers that paved a good weather for the rest of the weekend; we are still enjoying the breeze left behind by it.
I went to a villages called khalija and Yabicho where i was assigned to mobilise and register older persons for registerations. We identified 200 older persons for destribution of food and non food items. My NGO was given the project by a bigger German international organisation called HELPAGE.
We returned home around 1 p.m. Then i was involved in destributing donkeys and donkey carts to some pastoralist people..i assume u know why donkeys are needed..
since a local team had earlier requsted me if i could play for them, i felt that i was fit for the match which was between my team (Jungle boys) and everton..luckily we won on penalties after 2-2 draw. bearing in mind the fact that being the strongest team in town, i was proud to have recorded a win against them. the winning team won 2 dollars. Yes, 2 dollars. However, it was the rivalry and the integrity of the teams that the game was all about.
Now am awaiting the Manchester game;biggest game of the season..i am yet to see the team-talk..but i predict a win for united,,,i hope i am right this time..
Have a noce time guys !
Now am awaiting the Manchester game;biggest game of the season..i am yet to see the team-talk..but i predict a win for united,,,i hope i am right this time..

hello dear friends n families !
To start with; i am fine, healthier than ever ! i hope u guys are fine too.
Today, i was in a village called Ramu dimtu, i was there to register over 200 old people who were getting help from an organisation called Helpage..Helpage is a german organisation that helps old people in poor parts of the world. For more info. on helpage, google it :)
Kenya has been celebrating what is called Shujaa day: meaning heroes day; in rememberance of the those who fought for independence of Kenya. i did not celebrate because i dont see that as an achievement..Once u are colonised, i think it would be rather good trying to forget the embarassment than celebrating it.
Alshebaab!!! i will post an article on this some other time ,,bear with me..
The death of gadafi!!! i will post on this once i have comfirmed all the details..sory for keeping u wait..
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
For the first time, i enjoyed taking a ride through the countryside..it was green all over, children playing in water..animals enjoying the weather..
i will post pics and stories on this..am now going to sit outside and chat with friends all night..one thing i like about these stories is the fact that, there are always funny things to be talked about..i might sometimes throw some of the jokes into my posts..:)
have anice evening...cheers guys

hello guys !
Good evening ! sory for not posting the pictures as promised earlier promised. the reason is that it has not rained yet, we just experienced lightnings around our town, but it can rain any moment.
If u guys are wondering why my postings are more about rains, this is the reason: 2 weeks ago we got a news that a young nomadic kid died because of lack of water..this made me think a lot, how could this happen in 2011? this also made me apreciate water more than ever..thats y i am on about rains..the other reason is that i have seen animals collapse coz of dehydration..
so please, bear with me; in return, i am showing my apreciation through this blog and running in the rains whenever it rains. This is a promise i made to myself when i saw the cruel drought`s impact on the pastoralists.
Allah bless ya all..good night.

Yet another monday, with new challenges!
First, i really appreaciate the reactions i have been getting from friends n families all over. I just wannna remind u guys that everything i write is dedicated to u, i want u guys to follow my ups and downs. i will be very spontaneous in my writtings and posts. It does not need to make sense sometimes because the posts are directly from the heart, so i will be focusing less on the grammar or language. so please, dont mind all the spelling mistakes i will be doing.
I know that many of u read my posts but are not members of the blog, so that i can plan what to post or not..i apreaciate your comments and registerations..with your contributions, this blog will be fun to read.
It has rained these morning ! alhamdulilah..it has been raining since friday hence the potpondment of all the ramu premier league matches. Abdiaziz bare was away with the camera; he was stuck in the muddy roads between banisa and malkamari. He just came in yesterday with Daengu fevers. He is doing good now only that he is a bit weak.
I am now waiting for some rains so that i can post pics of me and the sibblings running in the rains.
Cheers..i will be back to u later this evening..around 7 pm ramu time. peaceeee

Alshabaab wal basaas !
I just wanna tell u guys that am still in kenya..pretty much alive and kicking..dont be worried like my teachers because am a somali and somalis are killed not kidnapped..and Alshabaab are tired of killing somalis. They think its a waste of bullets by killing somalis; now they changed the tactic by taking hostages of rich white people. i mean why kill somalis when u can take hostages and get rich.
Advice for u who wants not to be kidnapped:
As my friend, abukar from Andersberg (u guy i suspect was a former al shebaab member) says that one trick is this: forget the macawis and take trosers!
trick no 2: If u have a different dialekt than the local communities, play deaf
and finally, if u dont fit at all, play stupid..
Have a nice sunday!

What a weekend !
Hello guys !
Last night was a long night. My sister was delievering a baby and everything looked dark when the cervix could not open hence leaving C-section the only option to get that kid out.
After hours of struggle, alhamdulillah, the baby finally came out to this crazy world ! i actually was feeling nervous and scared of losing ma lovely sister that i am yet to meet since she was married. i was also feeling so sory for mum who was beside her for the last few months untill delievery..and anyone would agree that mothers can get heart attack in such a process like the one of last night..
To cut a long story short..am an uncle to a baby boy ! i feel so good actually :) and relieved that no one was hurt in the delievery process..
I am dedicating ma day to all sisters, mums, wives and all women at large ! Respect to women even those who dont deserve ! labour pain yoooooooo,,thats enough of a burden..

From dryness to wetness !
Hello bleeps!
I wanted to share the good news with everyone who was as concerned as me about the droughts in the horn of Afrika...
It has rained well on almost all the dry parts in kenya; am still to get reports from Somalia, but i believe that the weather pattern is the same as where i am ; Northern Kenya (from Garissa , wajir to mandera).
The buses that ply between cities in the northern regions are stuck in the muddy roads and are yet to come to the destined cities. Since Northern part of Kenya is under-developed infrastracturewise, the roads are bad hence unpassable during the rains.
Today, after waking up from my afternoon nap, i just changed clothes for the rains. together with my lil bros, i was running in the rains for almost an hour. this was the best feeling ever..partly because it brings back memories from childhood and because i now apreciate the rains after witnessing the cruelty of the drought during my work with the pastoralists..
Now, my weekend is already set; a good natural shower under the rains..tomorrow..united V Liverpool..Then as i was just told now; i am in the starting line-up against a local team..i play for Afya stars..what a weekend it will be if i score my first goal for the team :)
I wish everyone a very nice weekend !

TheRAIN has finally reached us ! alhamdulillah
In celebration of the coming of the long awaited rains, i ran in the rain (with my swimming clothings on ofcourse)..Now am sitting here, looking forward to tomorrow so that i hear stories of the rains. i will be sitting in our office and enjoy how the pastoralists flock into the office, this time giving us the reports of the rains instead of begging for help with water as is always the case. I promise to write more on this and try to publish more photos ! Ps: ma big bro is out on a filed visit (he works with drought victims), pray for his safe return since the roads are unpassable during these rainy periods.
Have a blessed time out there :)

Hello guys!
From my view; the sky is gray, the sun is shinning so bright,
From my window, i see trees with dry leaves,
My door, which ís facing towards the road, i see by-passers with dusty feets.
From your view, the sky is dark, therefore no sunny days,
From your window, u see trees with semi-green leaves,
Your door, you only see the top of the by-passers` heads, for u are on a high building,
you and me see things from different angles, for we are from different worlds !

When u truly apreciate being a somali !
Good evening tweeps !!
I just returned from 24 hour trip. The trip composed of ride round a whole district. My work was to do some monitoring work for the Ngo (racida). If I may break it down for you, i was assigned to go round the areas where pastoralist families live; and my mission was to meet these people and see if the water or food that was sent to them reached. I was asking them if they benefitted from the water-trucking projects Racida has driven in those areas. the results were a mixture of reactions. They all said that they recieved the water/food that was sent to them, but was not really enough or they simply apreciate the work done but would be glad to see more things coming.
Whatever the reaction was, this trip was one of my best trips i have ever made in ma life ! i met people, got closer to them, felt their problems but could not go beyond the reflection of their sparkling eyes; the environment said one thing; DROUGHT, HUNGER, SUFFERING ! but their eyes said different things. I could see hope in their eyes..their smile was so real that their faces are stuck in ma memories..Wallahi; these people are beautiful..I have seen peole with money in Europe, i have seen them lough or smile..but i swear, what i saw today really astonished me. This people have lost what is the most important thing in their lives; their amimals, but at the same time, they freely joked and loughed, their smile and lough was different from those i have seen before. this was genuine and its authencity is comfirmed by the fact that one gets moved..to be honest; i cant describe my feelings about the meetings with those "poor" people i met today...i dont see them poor since for me poverty is synonymous with gloomy and unhappy faces..
In summary, my experience today has made me feel blessed being a somali..i mean, if in this difficult times, i could share joke with these nomads, this is indeed sumthing to be proud of..

Another interesting day !
Am awoken by my 2 younger siblings who came in from Nairobi; as we enjoy loughing and chatting, an old lady came in running, she asks if Zeynab and abdalla are home (the sibblings)..the woman told us about how the bus that dropped my sibblings overturned at a place 5 kilometers away from us..WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT !! THE BUS THAT MY LIL BRO AND SIS TOOK FROM NAIROBI HAD JUST CRUSHED 2 MINUTES AFTER IT LEFT US ! alhamdulillah ! no one died..some injuries though..
we took a 10 kilometer walk tó witness the accident..i just came in from there, really tired , sweaty and thirsty..
am downloding the pics of the bus later on !
Now what happens? yeah, am taking a shower, heavy african lunch..cold drinks and a power nap...then meeting with some football maniacs in order to chat about the big game..Chelsea-been-eaten-by united..

Hows the days look like out here !
As u all know we are experiencing one of the worst droughts in 60 years ! what makes things worse is the fact that the drought coincided with the lack of governance in the failed state of Somalia. This meant that the famine led to the desperate fleeing of people from the country in search of greener pasture. This unfortunately was not an easy task. Somalis flooded into neighbouring countries for survival, but this was not such a success story. i would take years if i try to narrate the whole scenario, so i decided to touch on the Daadaab desaster camps !
Daadaab complex is designed for 90,000 refugees and it has now over 450,000 refugees and the number is ever-growing. I paid a visit to the place for few weeks ago in order to deliever what good samaritans have sent to the daadaab people. Thanks to the inspiration of Somali-youth-League, people in Gevle sent 60, 000 kshs. to Daadaab. We bought the money with high-energy biscuits made of honey, chocolate, milk and egg. we also bought mosquito nets for the pregnant and nursing mothers, other things include; milk and fruit drinks. The stuff has reached over 45 families who were in desperate need of help. Here, i just want to show my appreciation to those who were involved with this work.,THANKS !
My next publishing will be about the pictures from Daadaab, at the moment the internet is down. take care!

Asalamu Aleykum ! thanks to the almighty Allah who gave me the strength and ability to do what i just started doing;BLOGGING! As nordy as it might sound, after seeing, experiencing and hearing lots of surprising stuff, i decided to share this with those friends who might be interested to know about my where-abouts.
This is the 3rd time i am blogging, my problem has been the same; i ran out of ideas, lost my passwords because of long absence, had little time e.t.c..now that i will be travelling a lot, i decided to offload my experience to u guys. Hope u enjoy !
My blogg will be mainly in English since i expect that many of those who would be following me are english speakers; but i might sometimes write in Swedish, somali, arabic or swahili depending on my subjects.
